On May 21, 2021, the Parliament considered the draft law №4167 “On prevention, reduction and control of industrial pollution”. Roll-call voting turned out to be a failure! Only 213 votes in favor. This means that the introduction of advanced technologies for the control of industrial pollution in enterprises owned by oligarchs is postponed for an indefinite period.

Faction of the political party “Servant of the People” – 173 votes in favor.
Faction of the political party “Opposition Platform – For Life” – 0 votes in favor.
Faction of the political party “European Solidarity” – 17.
Faction of the political party “Batkivshchyna All-Ukrainian Union” – 1.
Deputy group “Party “For the Future” – 6.
Deputy group “Trust” – 6.
Faction of the political party “Voice” – 6.
Non-affiliated people’s deputies – 4.
Apparently, some 13 votes were lacking to adopt the decision.
Was there a probability of a positive decision? Of course! If everything is clear with such statesmen as “Opposition block “For life“, the position of other political forces is surprising. If the “Voice” faction, which declares a pro-European course, had voted in favor of the decision, the decision would have been adopted. So far, we see that 14 deputies of this faction ignored the voting in different ways. Do the interests of oligarchs prevail there too? ..
At the same time, there is encouraging news. Through another voting the Parliament sent the document to the second reading of the draft. This decision was supported by 242 people’s deputies.
