EBRD is inviting stakeholders to attend public consultation meetings to discuss its revised policies
In February 2014, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will host a series of seven one-day public consultation meetings to discuss its revised Environmental and Social Policy (ESP), Public Information Policy (PIP), and Project Complaint Mechanism Rules of Procedure (PCM RP). In order to ensure the participation of all interested parties in the consultation process and to secure optimal quality of the revisions, EBRD clients, partners, civil society organisations (CSOs), members of the public and all interested stakeholders are invited to participate in the meetings.

The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (REC Caucasus) and the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC), will be providing assistance to the EBRD in the organisation of these consultation meetings.
The dates, locations and event languages of the seven meetings are listed below:
- Casablanca: Tuesday, February 04 (French/English)
- Kiev: Friday, February 7 (Russian/English)
- Tbilisi: Tuesday, February 11 (Russian/English)
- Almaty: Friday, February 14 (Russian/English)
- Moscow: Tuesday, February 18 (Russian/English)
- Sofia: Friday, February 21 (English)
- London: Tuesday, February 25 (English)
The meeting venues will be announced at a later stage in the registration process.
Participation in the stakeholder consultation meetings is open to all interested persons or organisations. Participants should have a working knowledge of English, Russian or French. The revised ESP, PIP and PCM RP documents will be available in each of these three languages. The revised versions of these texts will also be made available on the EBRD website no later than the end of January 2014.
A limited number of eligible CSO representatives will receive financial support to enable their participation in the consultation. Financial support will be awarded to help cover travel and accommodation expenses, as well as other associated expenses, such as visa fees. Small daily allowances will also be provided.
Participants are kindly asked to register by Tuesday, December 31, 2013.
