On 19 March 2014, the National forum of experts from environmental NGOs, scholars and journalists will be held in the Aarhus center at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Kyiv, 35 Mytropolyt Vasyl’ Lypkivskyi St. (former Urytskoho St., the ground floor, room 103)). Participants of the Forum will discuss the future of environmental policy and lustration of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Organizers: International charitable organization Environment-People-Law, World Wild Fund (WWF) and All-Ukrainian NGO National Environmental Center of Ukraine.
During the Forum the following key environmental issues are to be discussed:
- The structure of nature protecting bodies of Ukraine as a result of the administrative reform: problems and ways of improvement.
- Staffing decisions in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine: proposals from the public.
- Optimization of work of natural reserves
- Legal aspects of environmental policy
- Standardization of approaches in the work with the EU
- Lustration of central and regional nature protecting authorities: how to avoid imitation?
- Directions of development of environmental movement.
The forum is aimed at environmental civil society organizations that have to say the decisive word about directions and ways of reforming the environment protecting sphere.
