International charitable organization “Environment-People-Law” started a training course on policy analysis for its employees. By English term “policy” we mean a complex strategy of actions aimed at solution of a certain problem. In Ukraine that we really hope started true reforms, it is vitally important to develop policy analysis in various spheres of social life so that reforms are well planned, profound and cause systematic changes by eradicating causes of the problems rather than just eliminating their symptoms. We believe policy analysis in the sphere of environmental protection is a priority because environmental policy directly impacts the state of ensuring environmental rights and human health and life.
Duringthefirsttwodaysofthetrainingthere were clarified basic notions, general methods and approaches in policy analysis, important conditions for its effectiveness. Participants of the training were informed about the full circle of policy analysis and defined the directions of environmental protection where changes are the most critical and where EPL will perform policy analysis in the course of training.
The training is performed within the project of organizational development through financial support of Think Tank Fund. The project is aimed at promoting development of the organization in three directions: policy research and methodology, communication and outreach, internal development and governance.
