International charitable organization “Environment-People-Law” announces a competition for selection of students of the third on-line course on international environmental law that will run from February to May 2018.
The 2018 course will concentrate on two major topics – horizontal environmental legislation and waste management. The course will include six modules on the most urgent issues of the announced topics and will envisage independent study by the students of the recommended sources, watching video lectures and other materials from each module. Also, during the course, students will be offered to perform control tasks and to prepare the final essay at the end of the course. Potential students should be ready to spend on the course 8-12 hours a week.
The training will be supervised by EPL employees who are legal experts and environmental scientists with practical experience in the field of international environmental law, participation in international processes and bodies implementing environmental protection policies. Outstanding foreign and national practitioners, experts and professors will be involved into the course.
Students and young specialists in any field who are interested in environmental protection, international law, and who have good command of English can take part in the training.
The course is designed, first of all, for citizens of the countries undergoing the process of approximation to EU legislation within the framework of the Association Agreements with the European Union (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine). Nevertheless, we very much welcome participation in the course of interested citizens from any European country.
Traditionally, the course will be conducted on the Moodle training platform, which will provide each student with the opportunity to take the course remotely in a progressive and convenient learning environment.
Potential students of the course will have to go through the competition. In order to take part in the competition and be enrolled as a student of the course, you need to send an application to the e-mail address (office@epl.org.ua) by December 31, 2017, indicating the theme of the message as “the course on international environmental law”. The application must contain resume of the applicant and a motivational letter with a maximum of six hundred words. Results of the competition will be announced to the applicants in mid-January 2018 and the training will begin in early February.
Students who will successfully complete the course will be invited to take part in the week-long summer school, which will be the final stage of the course and will take place in July 2018 in the Carpathians. EPL will cover costs of attending the summer school, travel, lodging and meals costs for the school participants. Outstanding international experts in the field of international environmental law as well as EPL lawyers will be trainers at the summer school.
