World Environment Day that is annually celebrated on 5 June, this year united 20 judges in Odesa at the training “Human rights and environmental protection”.
During the training the judges will learn more about the problem of violations of environmental legislation in the National Nature Park “Nyzhniodnistrovsky”. Representatives of the park will conduct a lecture for participants of the training and organize a visit to the park.
Moreover, the judges will go through four modules of the distance course “Human Rights and Environmental Protection” supervised by the judges-trainers Larysa Zuyeva and Vitaliy Bragar.
Participants of the training will watch short environmental videomaterials, in particular, about harmfulness of burning plastic bottles, dry vegetation, problems with the plowing of the seaside, and with utilization of mine waters. They will also find out why it is so difficult to keep to the principle of sustainable development.
This is the eighth online course of the National School of Judges that was developed by experts of the International charitable organization “Environment-People-Law” with the support of the project “Effective Justice for the Protection of the Environment and Environmental Rights of Citizens” funded by USAID within New Justice Sector Reform Program.
EPL expresses gratitude to judges Kuriy Natalia – the teacher of approbation course on environmental rights – and Tetyana Suyarko, who gave her comments to the third module of the course.
