On 22 September 2016, the EU Delegation to Ukraine in partnership with the international charitable organisation “Environment-People-Law” will hold media briefing to mark the launch of the EU-funded project “Ukrainian civil society for European style waste management”.
The project aims to showcase ecologically sound alternatives to waste landfilling and accompany the Ukrainian government in its efforts to introduce a waste management system in line with the EU practices. It is also expected to improve waste management by promoting ratification of the international Minamata Convention on mercury by Ukraine. The project will thus become one of the driving forces behind the legislative and practical changes in the field of waste management in Ukraine.
