We face new challenges every day. Sometimes, next day after solving one problem, there are two or three new ones.
A while ago, EPL made many efforts to enact the EIA procedure in Ukraine. It involved enormous advocacy work that finally lead to adoption of the law and the launching of the online register. It seemed that this was the final achievement of the goal. However, although it was definitely a revolutionary success, right after attaining it we realized that there are other kinds of problems to be immediately addressed:
– low legal awareness of citizens,
– lack of citizens’ interest in influencing the quality of life in their community,
– frauds and false documents,
– unscrupulous contractors who prepare EIA documentation …
So, we solved one problem, but there emerged new ones!
No matter what, EPL team are not discouraged by difficulties! We are conscious of our choice to face contradictions, problems and challenges with the purpose to overcome them!
The past 2018 year was extremely rich in events. We had to resolve many “hot” problems, sometimes on our own, sometimes in collaboration with our numerous followers. This did not decrease the pile of work lying ahead of us but this is good!
We feel that our organizational muscles grow in new cells that make us stronger, more durable and more confident in our actions. Yes, there were defeats. But there were many outstanding victories, really valuable for the further development of Ukraine as the country adhering to the rule of law, and human rights to safe and dignified life.
