The issue of deforestation, particularly in the Carpathian region, in 2016 became top issue for environmental articles, radio and TV programs. EPL invites journalists, community activists, and everyone who is interested in the topic of forest management to the round table “Sustainable forest management as a way to fight corruption”.The round table will help journalists and civil activists to become more professional in detecting violations in the forestry sector and more effective in fighting forest logging.

The round table will address the urgent issues of the timber industry, including major violations in forest management and ways of combating them, legal and economic aspects of forest management, mechanisms of public control over forest logging, ways of switching to sustainable forest management and stoppage of massive forest logging.
The event will be attended by environmental activists of CSOs, representatives of the regional authorities and self-governance bodies, prosecutors, inspection, foresters, scientists, employees of institutions of natural reserve fund, assistants of MPs and others.
