At the zoo “12 Months” in the village of Demidov, Kyiv region, animals are threatened with death. The zoo has no electricity, gas, fuel for generators. Due to the occupation by Russian troops, it is not possible to take them to safety. The occupiers are blocking humanitarian corridors and shooting people who want to break through.
The zoo’s collection includes: giraffe, white rhino, bengal, black jaguar, leopard, cougar, cheetah, wolverine, Friesian horse, gray Siberian wolf, trumpet tooth, Shetland mini pony, African ostrich, flamingo, roe deer, zebra, two-horned white lion, bison, arctic wolf, alpaca, caracal, red mountain wolf, chapman’s zebra, kinkaju, various species of monkeys and others.
“Now it’s “very good” – since the night gas has disappeared in all of Demidov and (I know) it will not be restored soon. They made an expedition at random to evacuate at least a few animals. Nothing came of it, we just rolled through the mud when something arrived. There are a lot of people coming out through Demidov, from various (including remote) villages, so expect friends and relatives. It is not clear what we should do, we are dying. If someone – our authorities, the Red Cross, etc. – knows with whom to talk about the evacuation of transportable animals on the other side and, most importantly, to bring diesel there, they are ready to go organize a corridor with someone or on their own – you just need (necessarily!) Know to whom , you can’t talk much with ordinary soldiers. Respect for employees and friends who took risks today – nothing, next time it will come out ”Mykhailo Pinchuk, director of the zoo.

Feldman Ecopark in Kharkiv in catastrophic conditions. Two employees were killed a few days ago. Several animals were also killed in the shelling, and some escaped.
Employees are trying to take the animals out of the zoo in safe conditions, take them to warm.
«Ecopark still needs any help – we need food (vegetables, fruits, grain, meat, etc.), transport and people to evacuate animals, financial resources».
«Our Ecopark was shelled again. The shells flew to the area of the exposition complex “Australia”. Alas, it doesn’t do without animal victims, those who were not injured are very frightened, in addition, they are not often fed, unfortunately, it is very difficult to get to them now, and there is not enough food.
We are doing our best to evacuate as many of them as possible to safe places. We have to ask for help with food for our many pets – funds are now critically lacking.
I ask everyone who has such an opportunity to unite to save animals that have become hostages of the war» – director Alexander Feldman.
