The Annual Meeting of the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide has begun. The Alliance brings together public interest lawyers from 70 countries that are the most talented environmental lawyers–practitioners, environmental lawyers–scientists, scientists in the area of environmental protection who have chosen nature conservation, protection of human rights to clean water and clean air as their life’s mission. This is the alliance that is a serious opposition to unscrupulous business and greenwashing in matters of environmental protection and it does a great job exposing plans of unscrupulous businesses to destroy the environment under the slogans of “green transformation”.
More than 150 public interest lawyers from 50 countries gathered at the Forum. During the week, the participants of the forum will consider the issue of greenwashing, pressure of unscrupulous business on communities, environmental non-governmental organizations, individual activists who fight for preservation of the environment in their areas with unscrupulous business. Defending defenders will be one of the main topics of the forum during the week.
Some panels will be dedicated to the pollution of the planet with plastic, adaptation to climate change of individual communities.
During the forum, the participants will find possibilities to discuss and develop a vision of how to minimize the opposition between introduction of renewable energy sources and preservation of the environment.
The impact of military actions on the environment on different continents, the issue of collecting facts, developing compensation mechanisms, and restoring devastated ecosystems to their natural state will also be in the focus of the Forum participants. Representatives from 50 countries will look for solutions to bring to their countries.
