Press-release This is the conclusion that can be made after the press conference “The truth and lies about forest logging”, which took place on 8 November in the Transcarpathian press center at Zhupanatska St. 15/4 in Uzhhorod.

On October 19, 2016 Nazavyziv village council addressed Nadvirna Town Council with a demand to cancel decisions of the latter on constructing Municipal Solid Waste Landfill in the mountain area «Chobitok» (letter of Nazavyziv village council1, decision of Nazavyziv village council2, petition to the deputies on cancellation the decisions of Nadvirna Town Council3).

Ecologists compiled a map of nature and reserve areas sustaining damage due to unauthorized actions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the areas under control.

On November 3, 2016, Lviv Circuit Administrative Court ruled in favor of International Charitable Organization “Environment-People-Law” and ordered to release permits, project documentation and land documentation of “Agro-Lemberg” Ltd.

International Charitable Organization “Environment-People-Law” (hereinafter – EPL) express our deep concern over the fact that the President of Ukraine vetoed two environmental European integrational laws adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 4, 2016.

On October 27, 2016, EPL held consulted with stakeholders entitled “Problems of legal liability for environmental offenses: causes and solutions” in the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center.

In July 2016, environmental scientists of International charitable organization “Environment-People-Law” surveyed the territory of Burkut Forestry of the state enterprise “Verhovyna forestry” and revealed numerous violations of forestry rules, the most significant of which is trailing and transportation of cut wood through the estuary of the river Chornyi Cheremosh, storage of logging remnants within coastal…

In 2012, in the Odessa region there was created one of the largest in Ukraine steppe reserves – reserve “Tarutynskyi steppe” with an areas of 5200 hectares1. The reserve was created on virgin territory that previously belonged to Tarutyno military range.

On October 26, 2016, International charitable organization “Environment-People-Law”, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of Lviv Regional State Administration and the State Environmental Inspectorate of Ukraine in Lviv region held a press conference “The truth and lies about forest logging in Ukraine.”

The media often release news on unauthorized constructions within coastal protection strips, the objects of protected areas etc. Massiveness of such constructions indicates that in Ukraine there is no state architectural control although there is a body that is authorized to perform it.
