The ecological group «Pechenegy» is non-goverment unprofitable social organisation. It is famous in Ukraine and the former Soviet Union. Activities of the group are aimed at protection of wild nature.
The group was founded in 1992 by students of biological faculty of Kharkiv National University. The current activities are campagnes against illegal buildings and treecutting in the city and region. The group is a member of Ukranian association “Zeleny svit”, Ukrainian movement “Khortytsky forum”, International Social-Environmental Union.
